Rental Terms

What you need to rent a car from DLR Automobile. Every rental is governed by the signed rental agreement.

Last updated:

Minimum age

You must be 25 or older. We don’t rent to anyone under 25. For exotics (Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-AMG G 63 and GT 63): 30 and over, licence held for at least 5 years.

Driver’s licence

A valid driver’s licence, held for at least 2 years. We may also ask for a satisfactory driving record.

Photo ID

Government-issued photo ID.

Security deposit

A security deposit is required at pickup. From $1,500 to $15,000 depending on the vehicle. The amount is shown on each vehicle page. You get it back when the car is returned, if the inspection is satisfactory.

Mileage

200 km per day, 600 km for a weekend (3 days), 1,400 km for a week and 2,500 km for 30 days. For exotics: 150 km per day, 450 km, 1,050 km and 1,500 km. For short rentals, an extra kilometre costs $0.40 to $4.95 depending on the vehicle, before GST and QST; the amount is shown on the vehicle page or confirmed with the firm price. Long-term lease: included mileage, extra-kilometre cost and the amount due before the lease begins are given to you in writing with the price.

Prices and taxes

All prices are before GST and QST: by the day, the weekend, the week and for 30 days. The security deposit is extra. The firm price is confirmed in writing before you book. Long-term lease: price on request, in writing.

Booking and payment

You send an availability request from the site. Nothing is charged, because no payment goes through the site. We confirm availability, then check that you’re eligible.

Insurance

Insurance terms are set out when you book.

Cancellation

Cancel more than 48 hours before the rental starts and there is no charge. Inside 48 hours, a cancellation may cost the equivalent of one day of rental.

During the rental

You are responsible for the car during the rental, as set out in the signed rental agreement. Fines and tickets issued during that period are your responsibility.

Your rights

Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you by the Québec Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec, including with respect to bodily injury.
